The MXL V88S is a small profile multi-purpose microphone with a fixed cardoid pattern. It features a 32mm large diaphragm capsule, and a low noise FET preamp with fully balanced transformerless output. In addition it has a 3 position pad (pre attenuation) switch with settings of 0dB, -10dB and -20 dB. The addition of the pad switch enables the use of the microphone with sound sources producing very high sound pressure levels, without overloading the microphones internal circuitry. The MXL V88S is suitable for a wide range of applications, delivering power and depth to vocals, as well as capturing the clarity and smoothness of instrumental performances. Internally wired with Mogami wire, the MXL V88S’s  fidelity and versatility will ensure it is a favorite in your studio.
